THREE more patients being treated for coronavirus by The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust (SaTH) have died, bringing the overall total to nine.

The deaths were confirmed by SaTH on Sunday as NHS England confirmed more than 1,100 people had now died from COVID-19 in England, and 1,228 in the UK.

In a statement released on Sunday, SaTh experessed their condolences to the victims' families.

"SaTH is currently treating patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus)," said a spokesman.

"Sadly we can confirm that nine patients being cared for at our hospitals, and had tested positive for COVID-19, have died.

"Three of those have been announced today.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with the families and friends of those patients at this very difficult and distressing time."

It is unknown at which hospital the victims died.

The overall number in the Uk is completed with 48 deaths in Wales, 40 in Scotland and 15 in Northern Ireland from just under 20,000 cases.
