Oswestry and District Darts League’s Blind Doubles competition took place last week as the season continued.
With a lower turnout than expected, because of the coronavirus outbreak, 28 players from teams across both divisions made their way to the oche as they attempted to reach the final.
The Blind Doubles format sees players names put into a hat, and drawn at random, meaning players from different teams can end up playing as a pair.
An eventful competition eventually reached the semi-final stage with four pairs battling for a place in the final.
The first semi-final featured the pairing of Carl Gerrard, of Black Lion Oswestry A, and Pete Gaunt of Sports Bar, against Paul Williams and Darren Rowe of Sports Bar.
The familiar pairing of Darren and Paul used their experience of playing for the same team to reach the final.
Meanwhile, Black Lion A pairing of Adrian Shearer and Steve Tomley, lost out to Ben Hampson of Whittington Cricket Club and Simon Brewin of The Griffin.
The final will be played on finals night.
