The latest concert at Rhyducroesau Village Hall has been announced.
Dirk Powell, who organisers have been hoping will stop by for a long time now will visit on Wednesday, April 8.
He’s considered one of the world’s leading experts on traditional Appalachian fiddle and banjo styles, along with carrying on the traditions of his late and legendary father-in-law Dewey Balfa of the Balfa Brothers, as the accordion player in the legendary Cajun band Balfa Toujours.
His roots in Kentucky and his commitment to Creole and Cajun culture have fused with early classical training to form an artistic palette and vision that are unique in today’s musical environment.
Dirk will be playing with Jock Tyldesley and Vera van Heeringen.
Tickets £12 are available from Rowanthorn, Old Chapel Court, Oswestry, jockt66@gmail.com or by calling 07796 694191.
