The manager at a Chirk café has admitted he is overwhelmed by the success of a charity event which will become a regular fixture.
The Donate Don’t Dump events, held at Caffi Wylfa in Castle Road, are set to take place on a more regular basis in support of Nightingale House Hospice.
Donate Don’t Dump events offer the chance for residents to declutter any unwanted, quality items that still have a useful life.
Caffi Wylfa, which is a social enterprise-run café, will once again be throwing its support behind the hospice, helping those with life-limiting illnesses.
Café manager, Chris Davies, is pleased with the generosity of people attending the events so far.
He said: “These days have really taken off and we have had a fabulous response from those people wanting to clear out their clutter and support a good cause at the same time.
“We have been overwhelmed by how much people hold Nightingale House hospice in their affections.”
The next event will take place on Wednesday, April 1 between 9.30am and 4pm.
Any items of good quality, including clothes, furniture, electrical goods and bric-a-brac are welcome.
The re-sale of donated items through the ‘Nightingales’ retail outlets provides much-needed funds so the hospice can continue to provide free specialist care to patients in the area. There is also a free coffee with every cake bought.
