A new incubator for premature babies has been donated to the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital by the people of Llanidloes and Mid Wales.
The hard work and generosity of fundraisers succeeded in raising £34,000 towards an incubator for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Cardiff. A plaque has been installed and inscribed with the words: “Donated by Les Jones & the people of Llanidloes and Mid Wales”.
Llanidloes’ Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital ambassador Les Jones MBE said he thanks everyone for their continued support over many years, and Aneurin Jones who has supported him on the fundraising committee since the beginning.
The Noah’s Ark Appeal is one of the most successful fundraising campaigns in Wales to support children and adults from across the country. Millions of pounds have been raised over decades so that children in Wales could be treated for all their paediatric needs under one roof.
A charity spokesperson said: “This was a huge achievement for us and an incredible moment for everyone involved. At the charity, we are very proud to support the work of hospital and its staff. Working together we continue to improve the quality of care that children in Wales receive.”
The Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity is urging people to join the Great Welsh Walk in May.
On the second day of the week-long adventure from Machynlleth to Cardiff Bay it will go along the banks of Llyn Clywedog, following the Glyndwr’s Way to Llanidloes and Llangurig.
Last year, 40 supporters joined the charity raising a £43,000.
