OSWESTRY residents are being reminded that there is a presentation open evening for the hillfort on Monday.

The open evening, being held at the Hermon Chapel, in Chapel Street, will discuss the iconic setting and welcomes all to learn more about the historic monument, what new volunteering opportunities are available for those interested in actively preserving and maintaining this important landmark and most recent landscape management plans for this site.

The evening will include a presentation by English Heritage in association with Oswestry Heritage Gateway.

Visitors will also be encouraged to take in Hermon Chapel, which is a Grade II-listed Welsh Congregational chapel, which these days is the home of numerous performing arts events, such as concerts and music workshops!

A spokesman said: "By attending heritage and cultural events that take place in historic buildings such as the Hermon Chapel, you are directly supporting the future of these architectural gems by giving them a new lease of life within communities.

"There will be plenty of event leaflets for you to take away – we hope to see you back soon."

There is no need to register your attendance for the open evening but if you have further questions ahead of the event, please feel free to ring Neill Phillips on 07751160576 or email ohgateway@gmail.com

The event runs from 6.30pm until 8pm with doors opening at 6pm.
