A MAN has been arrested following an alleged hit and run in Queensferry.

North Wales Police say a man has been arrested in connection with an incident on Saturday, which left a pedestrian seriously hurt.

A spokesman confirmed: “A man has been arrested and released under investigation following the serious road traffic collision on Station Road in Queensferry on Saturday night.”

Police added that the pedestrian sustained injuries, which fortunately are not life threatening.

The Leader reported on Saturday night that the incident occurred near the Spar shop on Station Road just before 9pm.

The driver failed to stop and fled the scene.

An earlier appeal made by the police said: "At approximately 8.55pm, emergency services responded to the scene involving a medium sized silver vehicle and a male pedestrian.

"The driver of the vehicle failed to stop and fled the scene leaving the pedestrian with serious injuries. Several enquiries are being conducted to trace the driver.

“If you were in Station Road at the time of the collision or have any information which will help to piece together the events of this collision, please contact us.”

Official inquiries are still ongoing.
