Love was in the air at Oswestry Library on Saturday as it hosted a heart designing event.

Youngsters of all ages spent time making and decorating hearts which could then be given as gifts, hung up at home, or kept for themselves.

The event was put on by community artist Dzintra Bernsaida.

She explained: "We have heart cutouts which are ready to be stuffed, sewn up and decorated.

"You can give them to a loved one, or a best friend, or mum or dad; or you can hand then in the window to show your love for home, or share them with the library.

"It's a combination for Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.

"I'm pleased with the turnout, it's nice to see it so busy and to see children getting involved with these types of activities."

Dzintra's next event will be for World Book Day when she will host a free workshop allowing anyone over the age of five the chance to create their favourite book character at Oswestry Library on Saturday, February 29 between 10am and 2pm.

Booking is essential before Saturday, February 15.
