A TOWN is set to get its annual spring clean next month.

The returning Quay Clean event will begin in Connah’s Quay on Thursday, Match 26 and last until April 4 with the aim of bringing together a range of partners from across the local community to help keep the area green and clean.

Quay Clean is an annual event with events happening throughout Connah’s Quay and is one of many local initiatives happening over the end of the month as part of Keep Wales Tidy’s ‘Spring Clean Cymru’ campaign.

Sessions will involve the general public, schools, local businesses, Flintshire County Council, Connah’s Quay Town Council, Friends of Wepre Park, Keep Wales Tidy and the Our Back Yard project.

Several of the events will be open to the public, where members of the local community can join in to help improve the environment on their doorstep.

Last year, over 100 people volunteered their time to help the campaign – and collected a massive 200 bags of rubbish across nine green spaces in Connah’s Quay.

This year, the partnership wants to make Quay Clean bigger and better than the last.
