A POLICE inspector has warned for people to be vigilant after a spate of burglaries in the Mold area.

South Flintshire’s Inspector Steve Owens told the Leader about a number of burglaries that have occurred within the past week and warns for homeowners to be on their guard.

Police records show that, during the evening of January 29 at an address in Bryn Clyd in Leeswood, the suspects have gained entry to the home by smashing in the window of a rear door and reaching inside to undo a lock.

They went on to steal a Garmin sports watch to the value of £160, a TocLITE safety signalling torch and a moneybox with a quantity of collectable 50p coins to a value unknown.

The inspector also told the Leader of a second incident that evening at Hafod Parc in Mold – between 6.30pm and 7.45pm.

He said that the culprits had smashed a glass panel of a rear door in order to gain entry to the property.

Once inside they have stolen a number of items including a wallet, a purse, some jewellery, a pair of hair straighteners, an Armani watch, a lightweight North Face coat, a hoverboard and £15 worth of collectable 50p coins taken.

Inspector Owens said: “These jobs form part of a series that are being investigated by our burglary team based in Llay.”
