BOTH Chirk AAA Youth and The New Saints under-19s found out their semi-final opponents in the FA Wales Youth Cup after the draw last week.

The young Chirk side will take on Newtown in their semi-final, while The New Saints will face Barry Town United.

With four teams remaining, the sides know their name could be the first etched onto the trophy since Swansea City’s record-breaking 10 trophy wins in a row.

Ties will be played at neutral venues, which are yet to be confirmed, with the matches set to be played on Sunday, March 8.

Chirk AAA are yet to reach the final in this competition, so a win at this stage would be historic for the club.

Meanwhile, The New Saints are familiar with this stage of the competition having featured in the semi-finals previously.

Saints have finished runners-up in the cup on three occasions, with the most recent being in 2019.

The sides confirmed their places in the semi-finals at the start of the month.

Chirk AAA won their quarter-final match against Pontardawe Town 1-0, while Saints came from 3-1 down against Caerau Ely to win 5-3.
