AN MP has reiterated his commitment to helping to tackle cancer by attending a World Cancer Day event.
Mark Tami, MP for Alyn and Deeside, attended the event held by the Less Survivable Cancers Taskforce at the Houses of Parliament on Tuesday, February 4, to mark World Cancer Day.
The event was a chance for MPs to learn about the Task Force’s life-saving work, and what they can do to help prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.
Last month, Mr Tami sponsored a Westminster drop-in event for fellow MPs to find out about the great work carried out to help those living with cancer by MacMillan Cancer Support.
“World Cancer Day is a global initiative that gets everyone together to fight against cancer,” said Mark Tami MP.
“I am happy to support this event today and to hear all about the latest developments from the Less Survivable Cancers Taskforce.
“There are around 2,200 cancer deaths in North Wales every year. We must all work together to make World Cancer Day’s goal of 3 in 4 people surviving cancer by 2034 a reality.”
