TWO teenagers have been charged following the death of a 17-year-old girl who died in a crash

Olivia Alkir from the Efenechtyd area, died at the scene of a two-car crash on the A51015 near Ruthin on June 27, 2019.

She had been appointed deputy head girl at Ysgol Brynhyfryd and was excited about going to university to study architectural engineering.

Three other people had been airlifted to hospital in Stoke with serious injuries following the incident.

On Monday, two boys aged 17 and 18 and both from Ruthin, were charged with causing death by dangerous driving and four counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

They will both appear before Llandudno Magistrates Court on Wednesday, February 5.

A spokeswoman for North Wales Police, said: "We can confirm that two males have been charged following the fatal collision on 27 June on the B5105 between Efenechtyd and Ruthin in which 17-year-old Olivia Alkir sadly died.

"The 17-year-old and 18-year-old, who are local to the Ruthin area, have both been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and four counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

"Both will appear before Llandudno Magistrates Court on February 5."
