NORMAN Holloway's picture in the Gazette on January 16, 2020 showed the small faces of John Watton's four children, carved onto a stone gatepost at the rear of Cliff Terrace.
John, who worked for K Shoes, was taken prisoner during World War Two and spent his time at the well-known Castle Colditz.
On his return he carved the faces of his children Mary, Angela, Clare and Adrian onto the gatepost. He also included a protective angel.
