A FORMER Newtown-based college tutor has published a new book.

Roger Wooster’s book ‘Screen Acting Skills’ has also received an endorsement from Gavin & Stacey star Alison Steadman, and was released this month.

He said: “I was a tutor at Coleg Powys from 1990 until 2005 where I set up the Performing Arts course and helped many young Powys hopefuls pursue their careers in the arts either in the area or by progressing to university and drama school.

“I went on to teach at the Newport Film School, then part of the university of Newport.

“Now retired, I have devoted my time to chronicling my experience as an actor and tutor by writing a book about Screen Acting Skills published by Bloomsbury Methuen.

“It would be great if you could bring this to the attention of your readers, many of whom may remember me as their tutor or even as an actor with Theatr Powys (from 1975-1990).

“The book, written with a colleague from the University of South Wales, offers good humoured and low-tech exercises for tutors and students to try out in order to hone and transfer their performance skills to the screen.”
