THE Marches School and BT have joined together to offer Year 10 students a real-life job application experience.
BT are offering work experience placements in June 2020 and have asked for interested students to respond to an advert with a CV and a cover letter.
Debbie Hampson, chief technology innovation officer at BT, said it is vital for young people to gain experience of applying for jobs.
She said: “It’s important for students to understand the process of applying for roles and this has given them an introduction into job applications and interviews”
BT received 10 applications from students and all 10 were invited into the BT offices at Park Hall for a group interview and assessment.
Careers adviser at the Marches School, Meg Murphy, said: “The original plan was to offer a place to four students.
“However, BT were so impressed with the positive approach of all the students that they have extended the placement offer to all 10 of them.”
