THE streets of Oswestry were packed with thousands of people continuing the town's festive celebrations on Saturday morning.

Floats and trucks passed through the town as part of the annual Christmas Parade event.

Many clubs and organisations created atmosphere from the floats passing through, while spectators joined in the fun singing along to music and waving the parade on.

Oswestry mayor, Councillor John Price, said he was overwhelmed by the level of support for the event this year.

"It was truly amazing," he said. "It's just absolutely wonderful to see the streets heaving with people.

"It's been an absolute privilege to be the mayor and oversee these celebrations.

"People of all ages turned out today to enjoy the day and they had a great time."

Cllr Price was quick to express his thanks to everyone involved in making it a successful morning.

He added: "I'd like to say well done to Oswestry and a big thank you to the participants and supporters at the parade.

"I would also like to say thank you to the Borderland Rotary Club who took the time to organise such a successful event.

"Congratulations to everybody involved."
