There was a buzz in Malpas on Saturday as the village turned out to mark the start of its Christmas celebrations.
Kicking things off was a Christmas Market in the Jubilee Hall which saw dozens of people visit the many stallholders who were offering some festive gift ideas.
Also in attendance was Father Christmas in his special grotto, while Rudolph and Olaf from Frozen were outside welcoming visitors with some music and dancing.
Gill Valentine, who organised the event with Rachel Williams, said: "The event started off in Hampton, but it moved here a few years ago.
"This is the first year that myself and Rachel have organised it, but it's going brilliantly.
"It's a lot of hard work but it has paid off. We have 39 stallholders, most of them are local but a few have travelled to be here."
Later on in the day, the village hosted its umbrella parade which saw children in a procession with specially decorated umbrellas, before the Christmas lights were switched on by Coronation Street star Ian Bartholomew.
Gill continued: "Everyone is in the festive spirit and there is a lot of support here today for the businesses."
