EMERGENCY services were called to a fire in Wem on Monday evening which left one casualty being treated for smoke inhalation.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) received a call about the fire at 7.46pm and two fire engines from Prees and Wem were sent to Hawkstone Drive, to tackle the blaze in a property's garage.
On arrival crews requested medical assistance for one person who was suffering from slight smoke inhalation.
The British Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Service (FESS), an operations officer from SFRS and a utility company were also in attendance.
A spokesman for SFRS said: "One domestic garage fully involved in fire.
"Within the garage, the gas and electricity metres were also involved in the fire so utility companies were requested.
"Crews requested an ambulance for one casualty suffering slight smoke inhalation and the British Red Cross were mobilised as welfare to the family.
"Crews used; one hose reel jet, two breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera."
