THE Royal British Legion has given a special thank you to one of its longest-serving fundraisers in the Ellesmere area.
Veteran volunteer, Alice Williams, has been collecting for the Poppy Appeal for 40 years in her home village of Criftins on behalf of the Ellesmere branch of the Legion.
At a recent coffee morning at Criftins Parish Hall in aid of the appeal, Ellesmere Poppy Appeal chairman, Bob McBride, presented Alice with a certificate and a letter of appreciation for her hard work over the past four decades.
The branch was also recently recognised for its efforts in helping to raise nearly £14,500 over the past year for the annual appeal.
