VISITORS travelled to the scenic grounds of Chirk Castle to take part in Hallowe’en celebrations last weekend.
As part of week-long events taking place at the castle, visitors tried their hand at pumpkin-carving, among other activities.
Staff were on hand at the site’s Home Farm, armed with stencils, carving sets and tea light candles, to help guests make the perfect pumpkin lanterns which they could take home at the end.
And to make things easier, the pumpkins had already been cleaned out – meaning guests could skip the messy part of scooping out the pumpkin’s flesh.
Meanwhile, because of recent wet weather, Chirk Castle has announced that it has run out of pumpkins for carving.
On Monday, they took to Twitter to say: “Sad news from Chirk Castle. We have sold out of pumpkins for carving.
“Unfortunately, our suppliers have had large amounts of their crop rot in the fields due to heavy rain.
“Our apologies for any disappointment this may cause.”
