WEST Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) has confirmed two people have died after a crash in West Felton on Friday night.

WMAS were called to the A5 in West Felton at the junction of The Avenue at 10.35pm, with reports of a two-car crash.

The deaths of a man and a woman were confirmed at the scene, while another man suffered critical injuries and was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: “Three ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Medical Emergency Response Incident Team (MERIT) trauma doctor and critical care paramedic were sent to the scene.

“On arrival ambulance found two cars that had suffered very significant damage.

“Sadly, an elderly man and woman from one car were confirmed dead at the scene.

“Ambulance staff worked with firefighters to extricate the driver of the second car from the wreckage of his vehicle.

“The man, who is believed to be in his 30s, had suffered critical injuries. He was taken on blue lights to the major trauma centre at Royal Stoke University Hospital; the MERIT team travelled with the ambulance crew.”
