The organiser of a Santa Run to raise funds for Leukaemia Care is urging more people to get involved.

Jody Wilson is organising the run, which is taking place at Moreton Hall near Weston Rhyn, on Saturday, December 22 from 11am, as part of his fundraising for the London Marathon 2020.

And he wants people to join in each of the categories

“This is the second year I have held the Santa run,” he said. “Last year I had 150 Santas attend the event with some great comments from people after, so I decided to run it again this year.

“It is all part of my London Marathon 2020 fundraising for leukaemia care – It will be my fifth London for the charity in as many years, which also, fingers crossed, coincides with my sister Thea’s fifth year in remission from the disease.

“In the four years previous, I have raised nearly £13,000 for the charity so am looking to make in excess of £15,000 if possible.

“It’s a great way to start the festivities – I have three entry groups: four to nine, five-15 and 16-plus (adult). Every entry receives a Santa suit to run in and a bespoke wooden Santa medal.

“I’m hoping to supply some more Christmas treats at the finish line – entry is capped at 300 adults and 50 of each child aged category.”

“Dogs are welcome as long as kept on a lead. During the time on site, we have a mass warm up which has kindly been donated by Amy’s fitness Quest from Ruyton XI Towns.”
