NEARLY 200 plastic ducks braved a 60ft drop and the swirling waters of the River Ceiriog at Chirk Aqueduct on Sunday.
St Martin's Village Football Club organised the duck race fundraiser on a suitably wet day to help pay for equipment and to cover fees and general running costs.
Club treasurer Linda McGowan said: "It was £5 per duck and we had 193 so that's nearly £1,000 for the club."
The ducks set a course due south along the river to complete their journey at the Bridge Inn at Chirk Bank.
