A BOY from Wem has continued his domination of the cyclo-cross scene by once again taking the top spot of the podium at the most recent event.

At the second round of the West Midlands Cyclo-Cross League (WMCCL), held in Redditch on September 15, Isaac Vickery beat 33 other riders to take his second win of the series, and his 23rd straight win of the year in all competitions.

The technical course very much suited the mountain biking skills of Isaac, who from the gun established an early lead with only Kellan Heuberger of the Swansea based Gower Riders Team, able to stay with him.

Kellan was taking part in the race fresh from his victory in the first round of the Central Cyclo-Cross League.

On lap four of five, Isaac broke away from Kellan using a back marker to disguise his move, and road the last lap alone to take the victory.

Round three of WMCCL will be hosted by Stratford CC and will take place at Johnsons Coaches in Henley-in-Arden on October 6.
