PERFORMING arts students at a school in Weston Rhyn are celebrating after getting top exam results.

The students from Moreton Hall have achieved 100 per cent Distinctions in national exams, achieving prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) qualifications.

LAMDA's performance exams are widely recognised for assessing students' ability in acting, and use drama to develop self confidence, physical presence and a strong speaking voice.

Drama teacher Michael Jenkins was thrilled with the students' achievements.

"I am thrilled that 100 per cent of the students entered for the LAMDA performance examinations passed with Distinction," he said.

"I am immensely proud of each of the students for this remarkable achievement and look forward to them building upon these successes in the future."

During the examinations, students performed two monologues and took part in a viva voce, which included theoretical questions based on the characters and plays they were performing from.

The talented pupils who managed to attain the LAMDA qualifications are; Romilly Pickering, Eliza Pickering and Ella Lewis who all achieved grade fours at level two; Megan Keaveny who achieved a bronze medal at level two and Nancy Schoelles who had a grade three at level one.
