THE people of Llanfyllin and surrounding area will get another chance on Saturday, September 14 to view a special display of memorabilia

arranged to mark the 150th anniversary of the town’s show.

There was so much interest in the popular display at last month’s show that a coffee morning at Llanfyllin Institute has been arranged

from 10am to 1pm to allow more people to see it.

Included in the items loaned for the display are show schedules dating back to the early 1900s, old show

posters, lots of old photographs and newspaper cuttings and artefacts.

“The display attracted so much interest at the show that some people were unable to view it,” said Dyfrig Jones, show chairman. “We

have therefore decided to hold the coffee morning to provide another opportunity to see the display and fundraise at the same time.”

The show committee has also decided to print tea towels with the design of an original show poster from 1914,

which was dated two weeks before the outbreak of the 1st World War.  The tea towels will be launched at the coffee morning.
