MEMBERS of the Wrexham community have taken part in the 2019 Memory Walk at Erddig to unite against dementia and raise funds for the Alzheimers Society.
Participants included Mayor of Wrexham Cllr Rob Walsh, MP for Wrexham Ian Lucas and members of Dementia Friendly Wrexham steering group alongside local businesses and members of the public, all wishing to raise awareness of dementia.
Norah Lucas, who chairs Dementia Friendly Wrexham, said: “We have been so pleased with the turnout for this year’s Memory Walk. Since the walk began, numbers have grown and it’s fantastic to see family, friends – and even four-legged supporters – get together to unite in our fight against dementia.”

As well as the Memory Walk, participants were able to book a place on the Virtual Dementia Bus, a unique, interactive experience which gives people an insight into the everyday lives of those living with dementia.
Norah added: “Every pound that we raise from this event will go towards the Alzheimer’s Society who provide information and support and will help to improve care, fund research and create long-lasting change for those who are affected by dementia.”
If you couldn’t make the memory walk, it is still possible to make a donation through the online JustGiving page.
