OSWESTRY mayor Councillor John Price will have to wait a little longer to take to the skies for his charity skydive.
Cllr Price was set to jump from an aeroplane on Friday, however with poor weather forecast, his jump has been cancelled.
Chief skydiving instructor at Tilstock Freefall Club, Alex Busby Hicks, said the cancellation was made with Cllr Price’s safety in mind.
“Unfortunately the weather is looking to be very wet and windy,” he said.
“There will likely be gusts of wind blowing at about 30 knots which is just not suitable for skydiving.
“We will look to book him back in and get him up there as soon as the weather is safe enough for him to do so.”
Cllr Price is set to skydive in aid of three selected charities – Empathy, Bums on Tums and Three Pots, and has lost 20lbs to be able to take on the challenge.
