A KNIGHTON schoolboy golfer has qualified for the Ping Welsh junior tour final in September at Newport Golf Club and the Wales Mini Masters final to be held at Celtic Manor.
Joshua Alderon is aged eight and will be going into school Year 4 in September at Knighton Church in Wales Primary School.
Joshua has enjoyed watching golf since he was two years old and for the past three years he has been having coaching and private lessons at The Grove in Leominster with PGA Professional Gary Morgan.
Josh also takes part in the Shropshire and Herefordshire Union of golf clubs Peewee tour in which he won all five competitions which were held at Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Shifnal, and The Grove.
Josh is able to play in both Welsh and English competitions as he is registered at an English golf club but is Welsh on his mother's side.
He is the first golfer from The Grove to win a Peewee Tour championship, and has set his sights to one day win the Masters and the Open championship and play a Three ball with Rory Mcilroy and Tommy Fleetwood. He would also love to partner one of the above at a Ryder Cup.
JOSH Alderton is pictured with his medals from each of the Peewee events and the one in his mouth is his Tour Championship medal from winning the under eights Peewee tour overall.
