POLICE have recovered one of three stolen cars after an Oswestry business was raided.

Oswestry Used Car Centre in Maesbury Road Industrial Estate was targeted by thieves who made away with three cars worth more than £70,000.

Those responsible also gained access to the offices on the site where they stole a mobile phone, a scanner, clothing, keys and a Snap-on jump pack.

The incident is believed to have taken place between 11.30pm on Thursday, August 8 and 1.30am on Friday, August 9.

Staff turned up to work to discover a grey 2013 BMW M5 5 Series, a black 2009 Range Rover Autobiography Sport and a BMW 3 Series Touring had been taken.

Since then, police have recovered the BMW 3 Series Touring, but are yet to locate the other two vehicles.

Owner of the business Christine Evans insists she is grateful for the work of the police force after the recovery of the first vehicle.

"The police force has done some very good work in a very frustrating situation," she said.

"A substantial reward is offered for the recovery and information on where these vehicles are and persons responsible.

"All information will be treated in strict confidence. We feel as though this is a job that was carried out by professionals."

The thieves used an angle grinder to gain access to the site, before smashing windows to get into the offices.

Christine added that she was left disgusted by the incident.

She said: "We came into work and the gates had been ground off, cars were missing and the office had been broken into.

"It's very frustrating because the people responsible don't realise the knock-on effect.

"To lose cars worth that sort of money can be quite damaging.

"I think it's disgusting. I work six-days-a-week and have done for many years.

"For people to be so inconsiderate and to come and have a negative effect on years of hard work is soul destroying.

"We had to wait most of the working day for forensics to do their work, so on top of losing the cars we lost a day of business as well.

"Losing the Snap-on jump pack could potential mean losing out on the sale of a car until we have a new one."

Anyone who may have any information about the theft should contact the police on 101, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
