Oswestry Paragon Time Trials Series

After the sunshine of the previous two weeks, the threat of rain and strong winds meant that just 16 riders braved the weather to take part in Round 15 of the Oswestry Paragon Time Trials Series.

With riders complaining about having to battle a tough headwind on the return leg, it was not a night for fast times.

There was another victory for Paragon rider Jack Morris who crossed the line in 22 minutes and 24 seconds to put him over a minute ahead of his nearest rival, Luke Valence of Wrexham RC (23:27).

In third place and fastest junior on the night, was another Paragon rider Jack Young with a time of23:34. Young has already secured the junior series, but with just two rounds remaining he is putting in a strong challenge for the year’s most improved rider.

Jason Arnold of Hafren CC finished fourth in 24:47.

With the Bikeworks points series still in the balance the 14 seconds separating Paragon riders Andrew Davies (24:50), Adam Riley (24:53) and Neil Coles (25:04) may prove to be critical.

Eighth place went to Dave Fanning of Ruthin CC who crossed the line in 25:12.

This put him ahead of the Oswestry trio of Steve Roberts (25:13) Darrell Walsh (25:55) and Alan Edwards (25:57).
