The tweet which has led to the FAW opening in investigation against Mike Harris
The Football Association of Wales (FAW) has confirmed it is investigating alleged homophobic comments made by The New Saints owner Mike Harris on social media.
Mr Harris made the comment in an exchange on Twitter with Gary Dewhurst, a former owner of Connah's Quay Nomads, after TNS's defeat in the Europa League on Thursday night.
A spokesman for the FAW confirmed the matter has been referred to its compliance department, and would not be commenting further until the outcome of the investigation.
As of 4pm Friday, Mr Harris has not yet deleted his tweets, and tried to defend his comments when challenged by other social media users.
The County Times has approached The New Saints for a response.
