A GOOD citizen in Llanfyllin has been rewarded for a lifetime of hard work and selflessness with a VIP visit last month.

Len Wilkinson, from the town, was given a Lifetime Achievement Award by the town's mayor, Councillor Simon Baynes, and was joined by members of his family including brother Geoff and sister June.

Cllr Baynes admitted he was delighted to be able to recognise the hard work of one of the town's longest-serving members.

"It was a great pleasure to present Len Wilkinson with his Lifetime Achievement Award on Thursday, July 11 as part of the Llanfyllin Town Council Good Citizen Awards for 2018," he said.

"Len spent many years keeping the town tidy, looking after the recycling and helping anyone in need of assistance. He still helps people out and is a very popular person about town.

"He was joined by with his sister June Williams and brother Geoff. Thank you Len from us all."
