THE grandmother of a four-year-old boy with spinal muscular atrophy has thanked people for helping raise money for his new all-terrain wheelchair at a recent charity event.
Harrison Thompson’s gran Davena Struggles is grateful to those who helped raise £1,900 of the £16,000 target, needed to buy the youngster a wheelchair for use on the beach, at a charity football event organised by Ellesmere Rangers last month.
The fun day involved a charity football match between the Legends and the Old Boys and an evening of entertainment.
She said: “Thanks to Ellesmere Rangers and everyone who played, gave prizes, bought tickets for the draw and evening music, and most of all gave their time to organise a wonderful fundraiser for Harrison. You are all awesome.”
