A “heavily convicted” thief, whose solicitor said had been badly beaten by a drug dealer recently, has been jailed for 20 weeks.
Krystal Heywood, 29, of St Hilary’s Terrace, Denbigh, committed a string of offences at Rhyl and Denbigh under some duress, her solicitor Nia Dawson told magistrates at Llandudno.
The court heard she had owed a debt to her drug dealer.
Heywood pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order by entering Morrisons at Rhyl, theft from the store of four bottles of whiskey, stealing from B and M and Wilko, attempted theft from Aldi at Denbigh of eleven bottles of gin, and making off without paying a £24 taxi fare.
A probation officer said Heywood was under a community order and post-sentence supervision, and heavily convicted.
Court chairman David Davies said Heywood had a prolific record.
“You failed to co-operate with probation,” he told her.
