Hundreds headed to the Llanfyllin High School grounds on Saturday for a fundraising fun day.

The day was organised by Kim Negri, who is a parent-governor at the school as well as being secretary for the Friends of Llanfyllin High School, hoping to raise funds for pupils there.

The fun day is every other year, allowing for organisation of the event and Kim admitted she was delighted with how the event went.

"I started planing this in April 2018, so it takes time to get it right," she said.

"It's really pleasing the community has come out to give us so much support and it's the first year we've joined up with the primary school as we're becoming one big group.

"It's gone really well – it was great to see the Lonely Tree Theatre Group, who are well known, and they performed a few songs from Matilda and Footloose, which was great.

"I'm so pleased with how it went."
