VISITORS to Oswestry’s Balloon Carnival next month will be able to park their cars and then hop on a shuttle bus into town.
At the Markets and Town Centre Committee meeting at the Guildhall on Wednesday, the council announced that there would be shuttle buses ran by Owens Coaches to transport visitors from a car parking facility at the Livestock Market to the event taking place in Cae Glas Park on the August bank holiday weekend of the 24-25.
This would enable those attending the carnival to park more easily and also help reduce congestion in the town centre.
The cost of the service has not yet been decided and will be announced closer to the date.
Meanwhile, the council has decided that there will be two sites for the balloons to take off from to make for easier viewing of the spectacle. The second site is yet to be announced.
