A FUNDRAISING concert aimed at helping some lesser known charites has brought in a large sum of money.
Oswestry-based choir, Os Rocks, held a concert evening on May 11, to raise money for Friends of Parkies, a Gobowen-based charity who support local residents suffering from Parkinson's.
The concert, held at the Holy Trinity Church in Oswestry, saw four different choirs come together to perform, including the Orthopaedic Male Voice Choir, the Cantiones Chamber Choir, Joyful Noise Community Gospel Choir as well as Os Rocks.
The evening raised £1,830 overall, with the cheque being presented last month.
Jan Ellis of the Os Rocks Choir said: "On behalf of Os Rocks I would like to thank everyone who helped in any way at the concert, be it selling raffle tickets, concert tickets, providing one of our many prizes, being part of the lovely audience and of course, those who turned up to sing.
"We have raised an awful lot of money for our 2019 charity and I’m sure it will be greatly appreciated.
"Hopefully we can do it all again next year. What talent Oswestry has. Thanks again."
