GREDINGTON Hall staged a traditional summer fete courtesy of Lord and Lady Kenyon to raise funds for Chad's Church in Hanmer.
A hot summer's afternoon was the perfect occasion for some light refreshments and a raffle while youngsters had the opportunity to try some more active pursuits.
Lady Hanmer (Elizabeth), a churchwarden at St Chad's, said: "The church social committee was set up 35 years ago and it is still running today.
"We've just had a visit and talk by Amanda Owen, the Yorkshire shepherdess, which was marvellous and raised over £6,000.
"Now there's a big job to do on the church bells; they've been up there 120 years."
