MANY parts of the county felt the full effect of the heavy rainfall on Monday, including areas in Chirk.

Some of the town’s streets were left flooded after storms and heavy showers hit the region.

Roads including Rhos-Y-Waun and Coronation Drive were covered with rainwater.

Wrexham County Borough Councillor for Chirk South, Terry Evans, has advised residents to report any further flooding issues to him.

He said: “I have registered about seven drains which were affected by the rain.

“Some of them have had problems historically, but others not so much.

“Any residents with problems can get in touch with me and I will do the necessary to fix them.

“It isn’t until times like this we realise how valuable the drainage systems are to roads and homes in our area.”

There were also problems in Nesscliffe, where drivers struggled to make their way around due to several flash floods on roads.
