A HORSE found itself in deep water today after falling into a pond near Whitchurch.
Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were called out to the incident in Prees Green at 8.25am on Saturday morning where a horse had become stuck in a drainage outlet.
The horse was attended to and successfully rescued using animal rescue equipment by firefighters, with two fire appliances including the Rescue Tender, being sent from Wellington and Wem.
Phil Davies, duty manager for SFRS, took to Twitter to thank those involved in the rescue for their efforts.
He said: “Great team work today to rescue horse trapped in a drainage outlet within pond.
“Calm, steady and professional approach ending in quick rescue.
“All well and happy. Thanks to local farmer for offer of help too.”
