THE sun made a last minute welcomed appearance at this year's St Myllin's day celebrations.

Despite the weather being less desirable earlier on in the day, people flocked to Llanfyllin town square and St Myllin's Church grounds on Saturday, for an annual event organised by Arts Connection.

Locals turned out in force to enjoy the stalls, children's activities and music, and a performance and parade by Masquerade — a drama group for adults and young people with learning disabilities.

Martin Cavalot, Arts Connection chairman, said: "The day was really supported — not only by local shops and organisations but also by local people turning out for St Myllin's day."

Mick Clifton, Arts Connection project officer, added: "The event is to celebrate the history and culture of the town using the arts."
