A SUPERMARKET in Oswestry is set to close for a week as it upgrades its facilities.

Aldi supermarket, in Beatrice Street, will be making improvements for a period of at least three weeks, with the store closing between July 5, at 8pm, until 8am on Thursday, July 11.

The store is one of two in the town and store bosses are urging people to to use their Shrewsbury Road store and have provided the necessary information for anyone looking to use public transport.

The confirmation of the store closure was confirmed in information posted to residences and businesses around Oswestry on Thursday.

In it, Aldi said: "Over the coming weeks, we will be making some improvements to your local Aldi store in Oswestry to enhance your shopping experience.

"Changes made will include: improved layout, increased chiller capacity, redecoration, new shelving, updated signage and improved lighting."

They added: "We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time."

The nearest Aldi is reached by the number 70A bus service and is opened from Monday from Saturday, from 8am until 4pm and on 10am until 4pm on Sunday.
