Despite the unseasonable weather last week, members of Oswestry Rotary Club Tree of Light committee accompanied by president Ian Glenister were able to present a cheque to Midlands Air Ambulance last week.
The donation was made to Maria Jones, Shropshire fundraising manager for the service and the rain held off long enough for a photo to be taken, including that day's crew: doctor Mark Nash, pilot Tim Jones and critical care paramedic Rob Davies.
Then it was a dash back to comfort of the office building for an hour's fascinating question and answer session with Mark and Rob about the work they do.
Mr Glenister said: "Thank you to Maria and the Midlands Air Ambulance crew for their hospitality and to the people of Oswestry for their generosity to our appeal which has helped 11 local charities this year."
