OSWESTRY Team Tennis under-14 girls are in pole position to retain last year's title.
The team travelled to the Shrewsbury Club's Tennis Centre to play the hosts in their second match of the Aegon Tennis girl's Shropshire division.
Kornelia Keilan and Ellie Edwards represented the team for the match against Shrewsbury, whose pairing had defeated Wem in their previous match, without dropping a set.
The girls rallied on however; winning their doubles match by 6-1, 6-0.
In the first single's rubber, Oswestry's Kornelia played Summer, Shrewbury's highest-ranked player of their pairing and convincingly won by 6-0, 6-1.
Meanwhile, in the other single's rubber Ellie beat Freya in an equally fantastic manner with 6-1, 6-0.
Oswestry now need to keep hold of their u14 title from last year with one remaining match to play against the Wem girls.
