Two Montgomeryshire secondary schools have won three medals on the fourth day of competition at the Urdd Eisteddfod in Cardiff Bay.

Caereinion and Llanfyllin High Schools claimed the medals in recitation, singing and dancing.

After winning third place for the harp solo on Wednesday, Llanfyllin's Cadi Glwys Davies was back again on the Wales Millennium Centre stage. She won second place in the solo folk dance for Year 9 and lower.

Today, Caereinion High School medal tally increased to three after winning second place and third place in the singing and recitation competitions.

Headteacher Phil Jones said on the school's Twitter: "Another great day at the eisteddfod for the school. Delighted to be there with the family supporting our learners."

A duet by Lwsi Roberts and Medi Roberts earned them second place and the Welsh learners recitation group won third place.

Urdd Eisteddfod competitions continue on Friday with seven secondary schools and individuals representing Montgomeryshire, Brecon and Radnorshire.
