A BIRDHOUSE made by a community group is set to continue to be displayed in an Oswestry gallery.

The Oswestry Mens Shed, which is designed to help stave off loneliness among men of a certain age, produced a brilliant birdhouse which is now on display at the Willow Gallery in Willow Street.

And for gallery manager Anthony Smith, this has proved to be important, both in helping community groups as well as attracting people to the gallery.

"The birdhouse is proving to be very popular and people have been taking their picture with it," he said.

"The men in sheds approached me as they wanted somewhere to display it and being a community gallery, we were perfect to show it.

"This is something that we are keen to show because it's good to see items like this come from groups and project that are from the community."
