Powys' medal haul continues to rise following another successful day at the Urdd Eisteddfod in Cardiff Bay.

Pupils from Montgomeryshire secured a total of three medals for third place on day three of competition. They claimed the medals in acting, dancing and playing the harp.

Ysgol Uwchradd Llanfyllin harpist Cadi Glwys Davies won third place in the harp solo competition for years seven to nine.

Then Ysgol Dyffryn Banw’s folk dancing group won third place for their performance to Rhyd y Meirch at the Wales Millennium Centre.

Ysgol Uwchradd Caereinion’s Ymgom (sketch) for Welsh learners earned them a third-place medal.

Montgomeryshire's medal count rises to 27 putting the region in 17th place in the medals table.
