KEEN sports fans might have had their eyes on the Formula 1 this weekend, but for the people of Trefonen there was a different 'grand prix' on offer.
As part of the village's hill walking festival, the village committee organised a duck raise, to help raise funds for charity.
Hundreds of ducks were deposited upstream into Trefonen Brook, with the gathered crowd waiting expectantly for them to reach the finish.
Volunteer for the event, Dominic Cole, said: "We do all sorts of things to help raise money in the village.
"The village committee pick two charities to raise money for, this year the home charity was Severn Hospice and the away charity was Mercy Ships.
"In previous years they've raised over £10,000 plus, so hopefully we'll raise something similar.
"It's just about making a bit of money and having fun at the same time."
